In Purple Class curriculum planning starts from the basis of the needs, interests, aptitudes and achievements of the learners. This encompasses the communication, early thinking skills, physical and sensory abilities which are fundamental to all learning. We focus on these core skills which form the curriculum integrated into a thematic framework using National Curriculum contexts as appropriate. Pupils will also work on developing communication and cross curricula skills through personal projects based around their own interests and aspirations for the future. Where appropriate learners may undertake AQA Unit Awards as part of their preparation for adulthood.
